The author and his wife live in New York with their son. A widely traveled journalist, called by his middle name, Bright, by family, close friends and in the journalism world, he fled Africa in 1996 during the strangle hold of late dictator, Sanni Abacha.

His subsequent seven-year isolation from his family, made him develop in character and spirituality, and he details this and much more in Sold Out.
