C&B BOOKS, was started in 1995, by Carol Rogers & Brenda Piper. Two years ago we started the C&B Book club, the club has grown immensely. The motivation behind this book business, was the lack of affordable books written by black authors. We decided to become an asset to our Youth and the African American commuitiy in a whole. We offer our books for less then the major stores, we knew this would provide our readers with a wider variety of reading material. We have, titles for all ages in all catagories, fiction, non-fiction, spiritual, inspirational, educational etc.

A Strong Woman vs. A Woman of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape...but a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything.... but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her.... but a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future... a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face... but a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey... but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong..

"I can handle anything that life throws at me. I may not be able to handle it well, or correctly, or gracefully, or with finesse, or expediently but I will handle it."

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance

Mark Your Calendar For The Queens Book Fair

CaribPR.com, NEW YORK, New York, Fri. Oct. 22: Poet Renee McRae, author of 'Truth in Rhyme Poetry', will be featured at the Queens Book Fair, set for the Jamaica Market Harvest Room on April 30, 2005.

McRae is a native New Yorker who uses poetry to connect people, conveying messages of inspiration and motivation often from her personal experiences in dealing with life's stresses and difficult times. She is also a dynamic motivational speaker and workshop facilitator and has been featured on television and radio.

Her book 'Truth in Rhyme' (Inspirational book of Poetry) is featured on QBR.com (Black Book Review) and her inspirational book of poetry entitled Truth in Rhyme is a textbook for NYC Board of Ed. and available on amazon.com and cbbooksdistribution.com.

McRae has been a featured guest on various television and radio programs such as HealthWatch (PBSTV - NY), The Hottest Poets (WABC - NY) and Unwrapped (WAOK/Atlanta). She is currently facilitating on-going workshops with NYC Board of Education, Mental Health Association of NYC, Inc., Hospital Audiences, Inc. and Teachers & Writers Collaborative.

While learning the difference between a limerick, ballad, metaphor and haiku, her students are gently guided down a path of self-discovery resulting in increased self-esteem and decision-making skills. Highly sought after for her poetic keynotes and unique presentations, her audiences gravitate to, and in fact connect with, her every word because she speaks their language, the Truth - in Rhyme!

Although formally trained as a legal secretary and having worked at some of the most prestigious law firms in the U.S., McRae sold old cars, real estate, temporary office services, medical alert systems, drove limousines and was a marketing director before realizing the true search begins within and discovering her true love: Speaking.

THE MAN BEHIND THE BOOK RELENTLESS ARRON NOBODY CAN PUSH YOU AS HARD AS YOU CAN PUSH YOURSELF

Relentless Aaron RELENTLESS CELEBRATES HIS YEAR OF FREEDOM HE PUSHED HIS DREAM!!!

You know how it goes. You all have seen or heard about the publicity (I'm sure), whether it's on Good Day New York, or you may have heard the radio interviews on WBLS or KISS FM, or even caught the name here and there...But, it's always up to us to control the images that are created in the market place. So, here and now, I want to make this ABSOLUTELY CLEAR: I never sat around and listened to the stories told by other people, only to write them down and call them my books. My first publication/PUSH (in fact) was written while I was in solitary confinement. That meant, no contact with other human beings (except for correctional officers who served as the 'keepers of the keys'). Mind you, I didn't even have a dictionary with which to correct my own horrendous spelling. That is to say, I am much too far ahead of the game to be that LAME who listened in to other people's stories, and then to interpret them as my own. That, in my opinion, would be less talented and something that anybody could do, not to mention, more an activity for the common huckster. I assure you, that I am far past the 'huckster status.'

But, set aside any misunderstandings, I want to thank you all who have helped in my progress, whether you directly or indirectly played a part in my growth. This month marks one year since I was officially a free man. And in that year, not only have I released 6 books (with 4 more to be released by the holidays), but my office has expanded, cases of books are crawling up my walls, we did the Barnes & Noble seminar, the Harlem Book Fair, The Black Expo, etc. etc, as well as there is a team of loyal soldiers who have a hands-on effort in seeing my way to the top. There are three times as many releases coming from Relentless in 2005; as always, MECCA CLOTHING is still sponsoring and supporting our brand, there's a new marketing effort in place to bring our titles to another 600,000 in 2005 and the blessings never cease. Can you imagine? I did all of this having left prison a year ago with just $10 in my pocket, And, can you imagine what's in store for the next year? WOW. Even I need a deep breath.

Thank you again for all of your kind words, your resources and your prayers. Remember, keep your eyes on the dream, not the competition. And that is just fine by me, since Relentless has no competition!
