C&B BOOKS, was started in 1995, by Carol Rogers & Brenda Piper. The motivation behind this book business, was the lack of affordable books written by black authors. We decided to become an asset to our Youth and the African American community in a whole. We offer our books for less then the major stores, we knew this would provide our readers with a wider variety of reading material. We have, titles for all ages in all catagories, fiction, non-fiction, spiritual, inspirational, educational etc.

Prophetically Speaking

I remember the first time I was cognizant that something out of my control was happening and I didn't know what to call it. There was an icebreaker in a newly formed new member's class. We were told to go and hug others in the class. I went to a young girl hugged her with all intentions of saying "Good morning" but what came out of my mouth was a strong "Congratulations." I was taken aback and I know she was too. What's up with this old woman? I imagined her saying. And I was surely telling myself, Girl, you senility is surely settling in.
I saw the young girl and her mother whispering and looking in my direction. She had to be telling her mom what I said. As we left the classroom, they looked at me, eyes squinting a bit, as if to try to see through me to the other side of that "Congratulations."
The very next week, this teenaged girl walked over to me and told me she was baffled by my greeting of "Congratulations" until the Holy Spirit confirmed to her while she was studying for a test that could possibly change her life. She found herself relaxing in the word, "Congratulations." She knew she had studied all she could and was amply prepared. It was time to relax and enjoy the rest of her weekend. She believed that the Lord used me to speak "rest" to her soul.
She confidently took the test believing that God would reward her diligence. The results? She aced the test--which meant she skipped the 11th and 12th grades and was academically cleared to go straight to college in the fall. The young girl's mom hugged and thanked me for speaking a prophetic word into her daughter.
Wow, I thought. So that's what that was--a prophetic word. All I did was open my mouth and God filled it up.
Even now, whenever I am blessed with a speaking assignment, I pray first, "Lord, you know each person who will be there. You know what we're going through and all our circumstances. You know who needs what; including me. So, I will open mouth wide, believing that You will not only fill it up but also meet us within the words. In Your Son's matchless Name, I pray. Amen. So be it!
After all, Psalm 81:10 says, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it." (NIV) Often, I pray the Word back to God, not that He needs reminding; but I do.
And so it goes in my writing too. The first thing I write on the page is, "Show me, Lord." When I write or pray, Show me, Lord, it takes the releases me from the pressures and expectations of myself and others, puts me in a yielded position, ready to receive or not--as the Lord leads. One thing is true, if it is from God it will be. And it will be revealed in His way and in His time.
For example, it was revealed before I finished the manuscript for my book, I Say A Prayer For Me, a thought tipped into my mind and rested on my heart in the form of a promise, "I have already assigned the readers, Stanice. And I will meet each one within the pages-right where they are." It was as if, God etched the words on my heart.
God kept His promise. Emails, phone calls, letters, embraces after talks, people-including: women, men, teenage girls, 6th graders, college students, boomers, and seniors 80+. African-Americans, Caucasians, Latinos, French nationals, Africans, Australians, Canadians, Vincentians, Jamaicans, Christians, non-committed to any religion, Muslim, Buddhists, Jewish and, people from many different economical and social backgrounds, have shared with me how the book inspired them and how it wasn't so much me that they experienced in the book--but God. Within each page, they were met by a Power far greater than themselves.
Even after having witnessed the miracles, soaked in God's grace, and was my self raised from death three times, I still have moments when my faith waivers. I experience feelings like why did I say that, or write this-it's so not the norm. Thank God; feelings are not facts. The fact is God chose us to be peculiar. It's no accident or defect at all-it's a glorious thing! Deuteronomy 14:2, "For you are a holy people [set apart] to the Lord your God; and the Lord has chosen you to be a peculiar people to Himself, above all the nations on the earth."
I believe the Lord used the Sistahfaith Network forum question, What is a prophetic writer/scribe? to extract this testimony from me. I needed to be reminded and perhaps God wanted to meet you within the words.

Prophetic Word

Prophetically speaking, I believe that everyone that reads or is read this piece will have one of the most incredible years they've experienced in a long time. Your most fervant desire, God will hand to you as He promised long ago. Something between you and Him. Dreams will be resurrected. The love ones that you've been praying for to get clean and free from the bondage of addictions to all sorts of bad things including drugs, sex, gambling, choosing bad relationships, staying in situations with men that are abusing them and their children, The Lord is going to rebuke it all and set them free. Hardened hearts will be warmed and relationships with mothers and daughters, sisters and brothers, fathers and sons will be healed and restored even better than before. Homes will be saved and help will come from where you least expect. Nothing being too hard for God, there are those with HIV and full-blown AIDS that will be healed, cancer taken straight to remission and then extracted by the Holy Spirit, by the time the doctors get in there to take a look--it will be gone never to return. Someone needs $150,000 by November 15th, it will come. There are mothers in NY, DeMoine, Russia, Florida, Texas and Maryland who have not talked to their daughters and sons in days, a few even months and are not sure where they are, they will call by the 3rd day of you reading this. There are businesses that look like they are going under, not so! Someone got some bad news about their health liver, heart, breast, brain) I'm to say to you, "Not unto death--you will live!" There is a daughter in Floriday awaiting a word about her mother's whereabout, she will call you before November 11th--with a renewed heart and new plans for her life without the use of drugs. In all these things whether it affects you personally or not lets start thanking God now for what He's about to do. And when it's done, let us hear those testimonies. For we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. (Revelations 12:11)

Be safe & Take No Chances..
Wear no campaign paraphernalia at all to a polling site so as not to get turned away from voting.

Please advise everyone you know that they absolutely cannot go to the polls wearing any Obama shirts, pins, or hats. It is against the law to do so and will be grounds for the polling officials to turn you away. Such displays are considered campaigning. No one can campaign inside the polling sites. They are banking on us being very excited about voting but unaware of this longstanding law that likely will be strictly enforced this year!!!!!

Typically, most folks who go home to change clothes will not return to the polls.

Please pass along to everyone you know.

Happy last week of October!

I pray that you have a beautiful week as we stroll into the month of November.

Do not forget to turn your clocks back one hour on the first of November. Would you believe we are entering into the "fall back" season? The season of early evening darkness. We have already began to feel the effects of the time change because at seven thirty, it is already dark.

With this new season comes new happiness, new sadness, new excitements and new disappointments. Whatever may come your way, just know that it is destined to be the way that it is and we should go with what is given to us. If what is given to you seems too heavy, then pray more. If what is given to you becomes too overwhelming, then speak to it with the word. If what is given to you is more than you expected it to be, then be a blessing to others.

Whatever may come your way, be still and know that God is in the midst of it all and His glory will reign forever......

Colossians 3:15-17
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Psalms 33:4
For the word of the Lord holds true, and everything he does is worthy of our trust.

Be blessed by His word,
Pam Adderley
